January 2026 Meeting

Join us on Sunday, January 11, for our first meeting of the new year!  Social time starts at 2:00, with the opportunity to meet and chat with fellow artists. The meeting starts at 2:30, followed by the presentation by guest artist Kimsoeuth Veth. An accomplished charcoal and graphite artist, Kim will share with us his journey through art, loss and resilience - and the ongoing, imperfect, beautiful process of becoming an artist.

We meet downstairs at the McDowell Arts Center, located at 125 East McDowell Street in Matthews.  Our meetings are free and open to the public.

Kimsoeuth Veth: Artist, Entrepreneur and Storyteller

Born in a refugee camp, relocated to North Carolina, then Massachusetts, then back to the Carolinas, Kimsoeuth Veth's story is one of loss and resilience. A self-taught artist, his artistic journey began with his mastery of charcoal and graphite pencil. Reflecting his Cambodian heritage, his work consists of captivating portraits, serene landscapes, and lifelike depictions of wildlife.

Kimsoeuth's work has garnered attention for its intricate detail and emotional depth. He remains steadfast in his mission to use his craft as a medium for storytelling and his passion for art, culture and community.
